Enjoying The Cool Sea Breeze at Padang Kota, Penang

Last Saturday, we had a chance to spend about half a day in Penang. We had a wedding event that we planned to attend, it was Haziq's university friend's wedding, held at Kompleks Tabung Haji Bayan Lepas. After having discussion, we decided to stay overnight so that we have few hours to spend around.
Friday, 7th February 2020.
I was on my postnight shift, while Haziq finished his work schedule at 5pm. Alhamdulillah I had a good night shift at that time. After completing my work for that shift, I stayed for 1hour+ to get my assessment done. 2 more assessment to go and I need to study actually while writing this blogpost. Haha.
Arrived home around 12pm, got my lunch and started to pack my stuffs. Girls being girls, I still need time to decide on clothes to bring and so on. And since I got married, I tend to wear the same color attire as my husband. Not sure why, but I think I grew up with this kind of thing - I mean, almost all my mother's clothes have their matching pairs with my father's.
We started our journey to Penang around 6.30pm, passing by Pantai Remis --> Terong --> Changkat Jering (this is where we can finally get onto highway). I wish the WCE highway will be complete very soon, anyway. For now, it only cover Beruas to Lekir. We also dropped by the pasar malam to get few snacks.
Finally, arrived Penang, to be exact our hotel room, at around 10pm. It was the last minute deal (always like that though). The hotel is Grand FC Hotel, located very close to Transfer Road where we planned to have our breakfast the next day. :)

Pro:
- a new hotel - so you can expect clean and new rooms with functioning toilets
- private parking space (on first come first serve basis) - you can avoid getting penalty / pay for parking fee outside.
- walking distance to famous breakfast along Transfer Road - will share more on this as it was my very first experience having breakfast at the side of road like that haha.
- good security - the hotel lifts require the assess card to go up. But you don't need the card to get back to the lobby.
- easy check in - since we already paid online for the room, there was no problem checking in. Oh, prepare RM50 for deposit.
- wifi - acceptable.

Cons:
- thin wall - basically you can hear people closing their room doors but it was not that loud to be irritated with. Bearable much.

After done with check in, we went to Padang Kota just to enjoy the sea breeze. Haziq had only been once to Penang (during his graduation), hence there were lots to show him. Hehe.
Let's start with Padang Kota.
I used to come here a lot. My uncle's flat was just few meters away from the seashore. It was the eve of Thaipusam, though I expected a bad traffic jam... it was almost clear!

| Not to forget, you can get your foot massage here. Not sure how much it is. I feel it is too public to get the massage hehe, so we decided not to try though the pressure shown by the masseurs and masseuses look promising. |
If you bring kids here, they are surely going to enjoy the playground and all the blink-blink merchandises sold there.
After enjoying few songs, we went to Padang Kota Lama Food Court to taste some pasembor. There are too many choices of stalls, we just chose the closer one. Here there was quite a bad memory for me though it was actually nothing to bother. It was when I bought the drink.
Me: Nak tembikai ais satu.
Uncle 1: Aaaa okay2 bayar sana (refering to Uncle 2 who is in charge on the money).
After paying, I stood there to wait for my drink. Uncle 1 told me to just sit first and come back later to pick up. I went to my husband who was queuing to pay for pasembur, then after around 5 minutes I went back to Uncle 1.
Me: Tadi ada order tembikai ais, dah siap ke? (there were lots of watermelon juices on the counter, I thought maybe one of them is mine)
Uncle 2: Sudah bayar belum?
Me: Sudah, ni tengah tunggu nak ambik je.
Uncle 2: Saya tak rasa adik dah bayar.
Me: Ehh, saya dah bayar lah, ni baki tadi uncle bagi.
Uncle 2: Iya ka? Macam belum saja.
Me: Adoi, sudah bayar la uncle.
Uncle 2: Hmm takpelah, saya halalkan aje lah kalau tak mau bayar.
I was like... what?
I got a bit irritated.
Me: Uncle 1, tadi saya sudah bayar kan? Saya tunggu sini tapi uncle kata pergi duduk dulu.
Uncle 1: Ya lah, betul betul, you sudah bayar.
Hmmm. Tak best betul perasaan ni.
Tembikai ais je pun!
I understand that you can't remember the customers' faces but if this does happen a lot, can you imagine how many times the customers may be paying twice? Maybe you can consider giving our receipts, uncle?
Luckily the pasembur recover my mood. ;)

Are You The Heart of The Brain?

Sometimes, I feel like I am the heart, but at the same time I am the brain. Lol. Every single morning that I need to work, I surely need to calm myself and keep saying 'it is another day, I can face this.' It is not that I don't love the job, sometimes it feels so hard to face the people and the challenges. Dealing with human's life, somehow I feel like my own life is at the edge too. -_-'
Now that I am going to complete my housemanship really soon, it is difficult to think that in the future, I am not going to have my MO to counter check my clerking or management. And if I am fated to a district hospital, I will not have any specialists to counter check my management too!
Nangis lah kau di situuuuuu.
But let's pray for the best anyway :)
I am considering to continue my studies, but with this contract doctor thingy, I am surely not entitled for Masters program, so... need to save few thousands to take parallel papers. From the experiences of my MO, they spend at least RM 4,000 - RM 8,000 for a paper and can you imagine if you fail? T_T
But again.
Let's pray for the best and do the best!

The Infinity Pool by Damai Laut

I've been to one infinity pool in KL - to be exact The Expressionz By Kl Suites with my parents. The pool was awesome, just at that time I didn't have any swimming attire yet, so we just enjoyed the view.
I am not sure if this pool in Swiss-Garden Beach Resort, Damai Laut can be considered as infinity pool, but to me, it looks like that. Hehe :D

My first burkini is Slazenger Womens Burkini 3 Pieces Suit - bought in SportsDirect. I have always wanted to have a proper swimming attire as I found it extremely difficult to enjoy pools in any hotel. They always reject women without any swimming attire, though I have once tried wearing some jersey's type of clothing. And I was a bit jealous of Haziq enjoying his swim before. HAHAHA.
That's it, I was like.... can I have my own swimming attire, pleaseeee?

Another swimming stuff that I surely need to buy is a waterproof casing/bag. During that time, I was putting my phone on the line by walking in the water with the phone on my head - just for the sake of photos. Haha.
I don't have much personal / random photos since I got into housemanship -_-' , so... I really want to have memories of this view.

After a good one hour dip in the pool, we decided to have our breakfast. There were lots of food available. Actually Haziq was the one selecting our breakfast food while I was securing a table outside the dining hall, facing the sea.

| With our wet attire, we were allowed to have our breakfast anyway, just not inside as the seat was covered with pillow, unlike outside, it was more to garden chairs. |
After a good breakfast, we went back to the room and prepared to have some sport activities. We actually planned for some jets-kiing but the staff in charged told us the water was bit low-tide at that time, we should wait till evening. There are at least 2 horses if you wanna go horse riding though.

| Since we already had experience with ATV, we went for buggy ride. It actually feels like driving a car though, not that adrenaline rush as ATV. Next time, I am going to choose ATV instead. |

| This is called longkang fishing. Interesting to do with kids, there are lots of fishes in different colors, so kids can learn how to fish and put them into different containers according to colors. |
All in all, I really enjoyed this short trip. I've been told that if you want to do all activities, it is still doable even without the need of checking into the resort. If you love golfing, there is a 18 holes golf site too :)
Gonna miss the view and I look forward for next trip!
Now, let's go back to working reality. Haha.

Dinner by the Beach

Actually we have experienced a number of dinners by the beach. Haha :) Well, Manjung is very close to the sea, I've told you, right? There are few other dinner places you can try while enjoying the view.
But, this time, we decided to have dinner at the resort we're staying - just to get the experience (tutup mata bayar T_T) I'm glad the resort accepts Boost and since I am eager to use the shop back app, never mind the price then. We have not much time to spend our money together though T_T Limited free time!

Prior to dinner, we went back to Manjung for Haziq's futsal tournament - my first time watching him on futsal court. He blamed his weight gain after marriage for the loss. LOLLL. It's okay sayang, we can still try exercising after this (though this mission always fails due to lots of eating T_T)

We had our Maghrib prayer at AEON mall, on our way back to the resort.
At the resort, we didn't wait much as we already pre-ordered the food and decided the time for dinner. So, once we arrived, the food was served on the table.

Overall, the food is quite delicious. Just the price is to be honest, priceyyyy. Hahaha. Of course we can get few more side dishes with that price, outside. But, it is still okay if we just do this once a while.

2D1N Stay at Swiss-Garden Beach Resort, Damai Laut, Perak

Manjung is very close to the beach, one of the most beautiful sunset view ever. This town is blessed with few strategic locations to enjoy the view - Lumut, Teluk Batik, Marina, Teluk Senangin, Pangkor Island etc.
There is a resort that Haziq and I always looking forward to go and experience.

I was on my post night shift that 23rd, came back from hospital around 11am. Haziq was also on his post night shift, already home 1 hour earlier. His luggage was already packed while mine was not yet though I already separated the stuffs I want to bring.
I sat on the sofa, asking that can I sleep till 12pm, please? (in view of the check in time would be at 3pm). As soon as I woke up, it was already 3pm!
Haziq said I look very tired, he didn't feel good to wake me up. So, there I go, quickly take a shower, packing my stuffs and we were ready the leave for the resort around 4pm. The journey from my apartment was about 30 minutes.
The resort is quite isolated and we need to go through a lonely road far from town to get there. But, once we arrived there, I totally fall in love with the view!! It was amazingggg!
Till next part, I am going to share the view from the pool itself!
If Kuala Lumpur is famous with its infinity pool with the background of KL Tower and KLCC, here you can expect similar view but this time it is the nature! :D

Since Haziq had a futsal tournament around 6pm+, we didn't do anything particular at the resort yet, except exploring around first to see where is where, etc. There is a private beach that we can access from the resort, but I am afraid swimming at this beach is a bit dangerous as there are lots of jelly fish.
